Overview
Map Background Styles are simply layers of GIS files or geo-rectified images that are displayed underneath the Radar and Storm Data in SWIFT WX. All you need to get started is a text editor, like Notepad.

Steps
1. Create a blank text file using Notepad or another text editor.

2. Add the following code:
Code:
[TatukGIS]
BackgroundColor=$FFBBF8
IncrementalPaint=NO
CodePage=1252
OutCodePage=1252
CharSet=1
Projection.Code=
Units=

[TatukGIS Layer1]
Path=USOutline.shp
Name=US Background
Area.Color=$FFF6DB
Area.OutlineWidth=1
Area.OutlineColor=$FF0000
NOTE: All the COLOR definitions are BGR instead of RGB, so you must enter the reverse of HTML color coding. Blue, "0000FF" would be "FF0000".

3. Save the file "New Map Style.ttkgp" and put into your \Data\ directory.

4. Next time you run SWIFT WX, the new Map Style will appear in the menu drop-down.

Additional Modifications...

Add additional GIS layers and display options:

Code:
[TatukGIS Layer2]   // increment layer #
Path=Shapefile.shp
Name=AnyName
Area.Color=$FFF6DB
Area.Pattern=SOLID
Area.OutlineStyle=SOLID
Area.OutlineWidth=1
Area.OutlineColor=$FF0000
Line.Style=SOLID
Line.Width=1
Line.Color=$10101
Line.Pattern=SOLID
Label.Font.Name=Arial
Label.Font.Size=8
Label.Font.Style=NORMAL
Label.Font.Color=$10101
Label.Color=YELLOW
Label.Position=UPRIGHT
Label.Field=                   // database column if desired
Transparency=100

Add a geo-rectified image:
Code:
[TatukGIS Layer3]
Path=Topographic.jpg    // must have an associated world file in same directory
Name=Topo Background
Pixel.TransparentZone1=$FFFFFF, $DDDDDD
Pixel.TransparentZone2=$120A46, $040637
NOTE: Images must be in flat-map projection, known as Cylindrical Equidistance or Plate-Carree
